Ok, I think I've got everything, but where there should be an S for the author's name, I've got an M for "spy" (m)OLE ? Also, in the previous clue, is it "gey" - a Scottish equivalent of 'gay'?

I've just realised that the S comes from "HI(s)" so that's all good.

I do have a problem still with the very first letter of the 19 - it should be a 'T' but I've got a D from "Admit those not at university" as (d)OWN - how does this become a T?

Also, still not sure about the Y in "rather Scottish".

Brendan, ‘Town’ as in the difference between town and gown in University cities.

I see it now, it is a T - 4th definition in Chambers.

Xwordfan, most of those are correct! You need ??IRD for the first word, then STAN?A is the second. (additional ?B are wrong, there's no more!
