Luckily I`ve got all I need for the garden - I too grow veg from seed - bedding plants I get delivered as plugs from Jersey Plants Direct - they are an excellent company.

Is that a plug for plugs, Tyke?

Hi Mattrom

I`m not sure the plugs would survive the journey from Jersey to Sydney but I`ve always had good results!

I don't think the freight charges would be worth it!

I grow most of mine plus veg from seeds (I try to save my own) and cuttings.
As a just 70+ , like Rosalind, I went and got three bags of potting compost plus some growbags yesterday!

Great minds rossim.
But now I've run out of AAA batteries for my TV remote! Have 23 AA, zero AAA

Oh dear. We take so much for granted don't we?
Doing online food shopping now. Slots are now few and far between but I'm sure supermarkets sell batteries!

No slots available here, up to April 4th (and no more advertised). Other supermarkets not accepting new delivery customers! Went to small local supermarket, no AAA. Found some at larger one (late-ish at night), dreadful price. They must be profiteering but I bought 4 anyway (both of us had latex gloves on!)
Stuck indoors except for garden and walks for a year or so now. Ah well, others worse off.

Glad you managed to get some batteries. Maybe rechargeable ones are a good idea.
Yes, there are others are far worse off.
For me the worst part is not being able to have my two beautiful grandchildren down to stay at Easter.

Rossim & Rosalind

I grew garden peas last year - the variety is called `Champion of England` from Dobies. It`s an old tall variety, growing 7 feet at least, so you need to support them - netting is best. They were delicious and a heavy cropper - I froze a lot - none at all in Tescos at the moment! - so it`s worth making the effort. The catalogue says Charles Darwin grew them - I couldn`t resist trying them myself and will grow them every year now!
