I am not a 'regular' , just answering a few questions here and there. I agree with Malone that this forum seems to strike the right balance.
I quite enjoy the humorous comments by some of the regulars.

Rosalind and Cerasus, good to hear that other Forum users are happy with things as they are. I quite enjoy some of the random comments, even on things I have zero interest in … and then I go back to whatever puzzle deserves my attention!

Due to extra commitments I don't have time to look in as much as I did.
However, I think the balance is just right and also enjoy the humorous, often very clever, comments made.

I think some personal chat is important for the friendliness and camaraderie of the site - as long as questions are given due consideration and answered as best people can then that's fine.

If someone asking wants a site that just gives lists of answers with no context or comment then they are out there too.

I find the majority of forum members both helpful and supportive.

I don't post often to the list but I visit most days because I find it interesting! I think the balance is fine and as a regular user I know that different threads have different "tones" and that isn't a problem.

Nevertheless, thank you derekack for raising the matter, both Ash and myself welcome feedback and we will always try and address any concerns raised.
