Finally completed one in under a day! Sorted all the messages and made the change to the hidden word. Just two minor ??s - 7d - there's only really one word it can be, just not sure why. Ditto 21d...I can't parse the 'No divided French etc' but there's only one likely answer that fits the NZ bit (I think!).

Granam, if your answer had Pressure to begin with (!), it'd be 'take it', without it, it's 'go on'.

Granama1, glad I could help with that one. I'm happy with my answer for 21 D, but the parsing is a mystery.

Hi mattrom, perhaps you should have mentioned "divided" means the f + r of fr (french) are removed separately.

Thanks mattrom and ginge. Reviewing the grid I now find one other which I haven't satisfactorily parsed -23d. I assume the s's replace something(s) in a word meaning summits. But having just said that...I've worked it out! It's like magic this forum!
