I have a full grid and the full phrase given by the extra letters and 31d filled in ... but unsure /i can't see what needs shading??

It's something this setter often does/uses - a lot of shading is needed. A quick wordsearch stare/scan of the filled grid should help - one of the main places is very useful.

I have shaded in some diagonals...1,5,9,13,9,5,1...is that correct?

Jogamel, the game's a common (in crosswords) one, three letters, inside a slangy/casual way of saying 'evening'. The result is a North African, person.
