I think the container word is subjected to a double exposure, taking the outer edges in two stages.

Nice to have a relatively easy one this week - no doubt we will have the horrors of a numbers one soon. I am a keen participant and follower of this game and it was good not to have to resort to the internet for the final denouement. I think the title refers to the position of the game on the grid and it’s number of letters.

As others have said, an easy grid fill with some good clues and the phrase not hard to find, but I confess I still can't fully correlate the non-quarry 'first and lasts' to the phrase; which clue does the 'I' come from?
