Rosalind, Tyke and any other tuneless wonders...

In keeping with modern trends, there will be an area of the hall assigned for 'silent singing'. Please let me know if you would like seats reserved there.

Tyke Rosalind

What is it with music teachers? I asked mine "Do you think I will become a good pianist" but she replied "Stick to netball."

I am sure Malone has parsed your clue correctly, but I was looking forward to your home-made apple pie with mustard.

If you're struggling with a clue, you could always ask for help. I know it was only a simple mistake you made, but it could have been avoided. As I'm such a stickler for parsing - in a parallel universe, maybe - how did you arrive at 'mud'?

It seems we dont like the same music. When I saw the clue I thought of Chew the Mud by Sub Secret. Putting star in gives mustard. Grunger's strange eating habits seemed to indicate this was right. But I agree your answer seems better. Only Grunger knows.

Malone, Jigjag

That will teach me not to try to be clever! I did intend custard but I now see another answer is acceptable. I suppose setters have this problem all the time. But really jigjag, does any one have mustard on apple pies? Having said that, I must admit I put in on steak pies (although not on custard pies!)

I think we`ve just invented PUCC Pies ( not to be confused with PUKKA )

Thanks, Jigjag, Grunger and Tyke.

Jigjag, nice catch! I'm relieved there was a rational reason for your answer.

Tyke, PUCC Pies... h'mm, maybe just too close to Pukka Pies? Branding is so important, we should maybe keep working on it.
