Where does the answer to 30d go in please? (I have a 5 letter Egyptian mass as the answer but can't see where it will fit?)

Kirky, I think you've gone astray there. The answer has four letters and 'masks' is a containment indicator. There's an extra letter at the start of the clue,slightly hiding the definition.

I,too, am making very heavy weather of this. I can’t work out what goes in the 11a space....it looks like a peculiar word. ? 7d solution. Help please with that and also with 31d
