At 11A I can't find independent corroboration that iterant can mean 'on the move' . Itinerant maybe but iterant refers to repetition.

I agree. My conclusion was that it was another bit of sloppy editing.

Apparently there is a 4 Elms village.

That means you could have 2 4s in the grid or a 4 and a 5 if you have 5 ashes.

9 elms is probably not needed now. Though that does not clear up the query above.
