Some of the others fit that pattern Jadzia. I can't see what trees would make places for those two? Help!

Sorry , i meant 3d and 33d are trees. 2 d is a number followed by towns

Thanks.

But Nine Elms is just an area of Battersea; the rest seem to be more incorporated than that.

Doc's crosswords are often a bit of a damp squib.

Too easy a gridfill (as usual) but this time with a daft endgame.

I have

Bren2od
7oaks
Maidst1
10terden
4ashes

The pair 12 a and 2 down seem to be the improbably named

Ruyton XI Towns (for consistency I am tempted to enter 2d as 11 Towns)

That leaves 3d- I can see the logic of the earlier post by Peter but I think it probably meant to be 9elms.

Four Ashes is a village in Staffordshire, England,

Five Ashes in East Sussex lies about 5 miles south west of Mayfield on the A267.

Could either be right?

Typical of the editing recently.

I think if you made a note on entry it should be ok.
