8d Bear away from Peru introduced to relation (5). The wordplay suggests re pe l .............. is the defn Tear away? ( i have T for the corrected letter)
17a Mow lawn, primarily for fellow in abysmal place (4) ?ULL ..................I have E for the corrected letter

A mew is a seabird kirky. I have the same as you for 8d

I think 8dn is beat away, actually

I would like some help with 30d please.
I can find no word in the BRB which fits the letters I have from 29ac, 34ac, 36 ac and the presumed last letter R. I am newly back to doing listener crosswords after a lull. I am rather rusty and my BRB is the 2011 edition so it may be the word is in the 2016 edition.

Maelstrom, it's always good to give the clue - then those without a copy can help.

The misprint is in the second word. You need a three-letter cereal, reversed ('up', it's a Down clue) and add two letters for 'in Reykjavik for starters'. (I think you'll have that last bit). The answer is in my 2013 Chambers. If it's not in yours, Google will confirm it.
