5d is effectively a double definition, each of two words
7d: first word is the definition, a somewhat obscure being; then the usual interpretations of the remainder in three parts

2d Perhaps America, aggrieved with Europe, regularly disregarded Paris (10)

1d look at first letters
2d look for anagrams - def maybe America

of course ...thanks very much prospero..should have spotted 1d!

Submitting the answers is going to be a bit easier than it would have been on a normal paper grid, isn't it - unless, which I doubt, we're expected to indicate cells with two letters with a /.
