32a 'deals' = JOBS + 'flaws' = TEARS (the rest is the definition in Chambers).

I read an online synopsis, featuring the characters, and the location was mentioned very early

How are we meant to highlight the name at the top? I’ve never seen a highlighter in that colour. Or am I way off the mark?

Cloverjo, I used the dictionary definition - 'a dull b...…. y...….' I looked out my b..... pen and then went over it with my y...… one!

I have done what I can without recourse to this very helpful group of people but now I am stuck! Have read the posts and very pleased to report that I have found the pairs (tho' 36a was missing & I still don't get it) but I can't make head nor tail of the anagrams and am confused as to why my answers amount to 11 letters for 13 cells. Also have only tracked down 5 clues with strings............................I'm well & truly stuck and would appreciate a few of your helpful pushes.
