Thanks, Rusty. I knew Araucaria died, but couldn't remember when. It's shocking to be reminded that it was five years ago - I remember the crossword he did that had lots of thematic stuff about his illness.

I've solved IT and I don't like the verb (definition) at the end either.
It doesn't make a smooth surface reading.

I did not like the clue either. I do not like "appeal" or "deliver" as you dont . "Deliver" is a politicians word, not used by the public, except in the postman/milkman sense. They always deliver"!
