Assume everyone else found this easy as no posts. Have finally finished grid including 5 ‘amendments’ but struggling with what it all means. Seem to have an Italian physicist (with unfilled gaps) and a comic book despite the suggestion of a Flanders and Swann ditty. Help

I've not quite finished yet, but you'll fin the name of an author at 15, 26, 28 - once you've slightly shuffled the letters of 26.

Thanks Nelson, yes, those are 3 of the amendments I have found plus one of the titles and his best friend.

I found the physicist a bit peripheral, I was glad when he left!

I don't have his name yet, and am struggling with 4D.

Nelson, I don't have the clues - but from what's in my grid, I think 'wander' must have been the definition. (I'm hoping I'm remembering correctly!)

You are right Malone, def of 4d is wander. Surely we don’t just remove the physicist - don’t we have to substitute him? Cannot find letters that give us real words that make a 12 letter answer of any sense,

I think we have to replace 1A with the four word phrase associated with the author and hinted at in the last sentence of the preamble.
