once you have the replaced letters (and 11 depends on 3) 3 will become obvious if you've 2'd 8 ...

Could someone please confirm that 2down is one of the five literal substitutions . I have the other four which make sense . 2down seems to indicate 'LINT' and not as I would expect 'LIST'. Also struggling with 9d , 16a and 25a despite previous hints. Any help gratefully received.

9 D. Definition is 'as if by magic, protected'. It's one of the usual abbreviations followed by a word meaning 'with guns'.

16 The definition - parts of houses. Strong winds, a usual five-letter answer, with 'start to be', the usual crossword indicator, inside.

Only one left. 15ac Broadcast Welsh footballer's performances. I have T_T_ but cannot (despite searching Google) find a name that fits - very frustrating. Any suggestions welcome.

I think it was mentioned earlier, the definition is performances, not the footballer's name. And letters then change thematically of course.

I'm still stuck on the horny beast one! Despite big hints. I'm still thinking it should end OKS as OK is a women's magazine and I can't think of any other short magazine names.
Also still not clear on 3d, like other people.

... i made the mistake of thinking it ended oks too....gaze is the look ...take off the e ... then the mag is elle ..then add s for women'S.
