I have finished it but cant parse 26D (before treatment).

The pre-amble puzzles me. I assume 42A is the one not in Chambers,
but which plural is not in it as all mine are.

The "reformed" entries - should it be "re-formed", or is this a clever use of the word.

It is a double use of the word, if you look at a definition of the removed letter.

26d is an anagram of Jim’s, minus the extra letter, plus a four letter word meaning energetic person, not a thinker.

I’m not sure which is the plural. It might be 26d, which is explicitly in Collins

I admire your confidence that you’ve finished if you haven’t parsed 26d before treatment! How can you be sure of the grid entry? Maybe I’m being thick ...

i worked back for 26d too...with only 1 letter missing it had to be an O (I hope!) then add the M and anagram it to get a word in line with the others..then saw that that had to be an anagram of (J)ims + energetic person of 4 letters...

I have a full grid - always assuming 39 across is a common term for somebody from Yorkshire but I cannot for the life of me find the quote. I suspect I may have some of the letters wrong but I have it starting with 'reality is what we do'. Could somebody please point me in the right direction and is it spoken by 15 down in 37 across?
