Nine clues lack a definition, seven of which appear in the grid
reformed after a thematic adjustment; the remaining two are
untouched by such CORRUPTION. All clues have an extra letter in the wordplay
15a Trumpet sounding alarm for old Nick? (7) in the grid i have
A?L??E? which may/may not be any use!
18a Old student to be situated in Greece (7) .....L?G??R?

kirky, this was a bit tricky. But 15a is not one of those nine clues. ALLURER, LUR (Norse trumpet) in ALER(T), T the extra letter.
18a is one of the seven reformed clues. The wordplay leads to SMUGGLER, SMUG (old student)+ L(I)E in GR, I the extra letter. But the grid entry is LUGGERS. I'll let you work out the rest

Xwordfan, I’m sure it’s SOLERET. It’s listed as an alternative spelling in Collins Online. ROLE SET isn’t, and nowhere is it suggested it might be two words
