Bit late in the day asking for help, but I can't quite finish this. Grid is filled and highlighted as required and I have one of the titles formed from the 'overlooked' letters.

This title is 3, 6, 4.

Which leaves me with four known letters, and three I can't work out from the clues - even though I have the answers. Don't want to say what these are in case I spoil it for anyone still doing the puzzle, but wouldn't mind a hint with the mystery title.

Think your title should be 6,3,4? That leaves a 6-letter title. My 6 extra letters for this title are in 11, 15, 19, 22, 30 and 36, all across.

I needed the second film to make sure I had the correct highlighting. I just did a lot of research (well, Wiki) to make sure I had the right … character.

Is the title I'm looking for in same 'mediium' as the other two?

I'm not sure of the 'medium' involved, Nelson - I made sure I paid attention to the more than two films!

Nelson, as Malone says, this is one here you have to be diligent and all three titles are needed to work out the person. Try the imdb website for the third title.

Nelson, you might have had the correct highlighting anyway - I was just making sure that you knew/saw it wasn't quite as straightforward as it first appeared.

I have finished the crossword, with artist and film highlighted, but I cannot see the missed letters in 11A, (As we left what turned outside? 5) and 22A (Miner's heart tumour lacking absolute remedy 7). I have the entries but cannot parse the wordplay or get the missing letters, which I assume are O and W.
