Despite looking at, and reflecting on, the previous discussion I still can't get 22 across - could someone help. Also 24 across - do the last five letters indicate a musical composer (clued as barman?)

I didn't enjoy this one either!

Any advice welcomed!

I'm curious about 12ac, Drove Sir Michael to leave the Navy. H?R?E give a pretty good guess, but who is Sir Michael and what's it about?
