I just realized that I had put JJ originally where A is now.
Then I forgot that I had to find her a new place !

I've been a bit slow to get going on this, but I like Maskarade so I'll make up for that. Now - I have the four 11-letter answers, I can see how they pair and I can see which two go in the left-hand diagram and which two go in the right. But - how did you disambiguate which goes vertically and which horizontally ?? Do I need to get the four 9-letter answers before I can do that ?

I placed the wine X to cross with 11-letter Y

I must have made a mistake. I can't place my E2 so that it ties in with my other crossers.

E2 is vertical in rh grid crossing with 11-letter W

Thanks for that Jazzgirl ! I'll go with those and see where I end up ! I still don't see the disambiguation although there must surely be one in there somewhere, otherwise we'd end up with a situation which I saw years ago, where an Araucaria jigsaw could be filled in either of two ways (at 90 degrees to one another) and I missed the hint in one of the clues that a particular answer should be placed vertically. I don't submit the puzzle for the competition (the prizes aren't worth the price of the stamp) so it's only a bit of fun and mental exercise.

JHB I had the RH 11-letter words the wrong way round at first, so had to rearrange !

The 5-letter F clue hints that the solution should run vertically. That only helps with the left-hand diagram of course, if it helps at all !
