I dont understand why there is another alphabetical order puzzle only 4 weeks after the same sort (by the same compiler). Cant there be more variety? I enjoyed the New Year one but have abandoned this even though I like Samuel puzzles.

Thanks - I wondered if it was a mistake. Too many of late and I am losing confidence.

I have not been able to look at EV for a couple of weeks - it looks like I missed a beauty two weeks ago - and I have been struggling a little with this ( about half the answers ) in the time I have been able to spend on it. I think the key to filling the grid is the positioning of the 8 and 10 letter answers but I haven't any of those yet. Also I have the jockey in the third column but am not sure if that is right. Any pointers on those would be more than welcome.

Good Morning, as ever I am finding this extremely difficult especially after the other very difficult one by Samuel only a short time ago. Am very unsure of which change, so far have only managed a very few clues, without wishing to spoil things for others, could some kind person give me an idea about how many constitutes a 'specific number'

6 is thematic anagram of clattere (almost clattered) with the thematic missing

13- word for notice with the c moved up a few places

25- bird- Macao is territory in wordplay

39- thematic- 3 letter slang word for bed is the wordplay with a thematic in front to give the full answer
