Thanks Malone. Finished now although 32a needed recourse to an old hardback version of Chambers

Jansmc, glad I could help. 32 A is in my Revised 13th edition Chambers (from 2014).

Tidying up my desk, I've just discovered that I didn't finish this off!
15 A. Have study made of his cookie (4) OY?O

NB - thematic stuff means that there is likely to be an L or two missing, in clue and answer. I think the clue might read 'Halve' and I think there's an L missing from the answer too.

I'm probably way off here as I'm new to this puzzle but I thought Oreo, the American biscuit, only because it fits really.

Thanks, Teenieleek, I thought of Oreo initially but couldn't parse it. I then got an L or a G for the second letter in the entry. The preamble says there's one trade name in the answers, and I've already got that. The preamble adds that one answer is an abbreviation, but I haven't checked all of mine.

Hi Malopne, 10D is definitely AERE (A for 'in the year''', ERE for 'before').....I should know as I worked there in the 80s !

Muraria, thanks for that - and I'll go back to Oreo (which has 're', read, halved).
Teenieleek, thanks for your earlier Oreo.
