My suggestion for 28d derives from the rhyme called 10 o'clock scholar. Any one got an explanation for the connection between Ghana and a place name in Florida for 31A?
You took the words from my mouth Simon! The earlier suggstion - Tyrrell - in my list there's only one l, so I hadn't considered it. How does that help in 28 d?
It's such a lovely clue, Simon. A bob - a shilling (perhaps you're too young to remember?) If someone borrows it from me, what am I? And it is a themed word.
I'm assuming 26D is valerie - don't fully understand why - vale can be leaving/farewell or valley/ria and 21st themed answer could have been valeria but still doesn't account for the "e" or "rie" depending on how you look at it - anyone able to enlighten me?
