Dylan, the second down answer is EONS
Escuan, bear with me, I'm a Sunday starter this week, and have now got to a point described by previous contributors : entry of 1A and 1D, with a few other entries pencilled in across and down. Unless I have a blinding insight, my guess is that this needs to be resolved by cold-solving most of the clues, so that the method of entry for the 3 groups of 4 becomes obvious. I think that at least one of the groups is anagrammed, and that TRISTAN belongs in that category. Possibly there are other cryptic entry forms, for example L for LITRE, and part anagrams for the answers which include OUT etc.
Meantime, any ideas on the 5th, 6th, 10th and 11th across clues would be welcome.
