I'm having trouble with the last few (to be honest, I'm having trouble parsing quite a few I think are right!) There is a sort of Simpsons theme.

Any hints for 17a?
Small job outside Springfield? (5)

D???Y

I'm thinking DIY for the job, which suggests either DIDDY or DINKY, but I can't see what either DD or NK has to do with Springfield (Simpsons or otherwise).

'Chops' is the definition - a slangy answer for a slangy clue.
'Tablet' defines the first four letters, and 'fix' the second four (in the sense of 'I've got myself in a fix'
