Rusty, I've now got my Hudl set up to work on two browsers - Google Chrome and Firefox (just in case there is a problem with one or the other)
Daughter was very impressed with me! I'd also downloaded Nova, as that blog suggested, but hadn't changed over from the Tesco launcher. Daughter suggested leaving well alone for now as all was working ok.
She thought the 'lighting' (don't know the technical name?) was somewhat dim, so brightened it for me - mush easier to see now!
The only problem she had with the Hudl was that she thought it was responding rather sluggishly? She said there ought to be some way to improve the sensitivity?
but she couldn't find any way to do that?
Do you know how or have any ideas?
Nice to be going for coffee tomorrow morning!
I've bought some plants for the crematorium, which we will take after dog-walking.

Um, I'd rather not go against your daughter's suggestions, but the Nova launcher is better than the Tesco one. Now, speed? Difficult.
Cleaning caches and cookies is a good idea.
You can download an app for that. AVG or CC Cleaner, or one of those. You may have something running in the background?
Have you been into Apps and got rid of things you wont use? I got rid of loads of stuff. Blinkbox and Spotify etc.
I do not know what they were for, but, I knew I did not want them.

Elle, go you into Playstore.
Type "cleaner and speed booster" into searchbox.
There are a choice there.
No 16 by Cheetah looks promising?
You can install it and see if it helps.
If no good, uninstall it.
Or, try a few?

For the future!
Brightness, or lighting!
Go to top right hand of screen.
Swipe down.
You will see a display of settings.
Select "brightness"
You will see a slider control.
Slide left to decrease, slide right to increase the brightness in your screen.
It is easy enough.

Morning, Rusty!
A fine Fathers' Day but much cooler here !
I don't know why I didn't think of using Piriform on the Hudl! - I have both the Cleaner and the Defragmenter on the desk top - both work brilliantly. Thanks for the suggestion - one of today's tasks - that and looking into the 'speed' problem, following your instructions.
Now... before I forget to tell you this.......do you remember a while back talking about Henry VIII and Sir Thomas Moore?
The film and play by Sir Robert Bolt - "A Man for All Seasons" starring Paul Schofield ( he was in both play and film)?
Well, the film is showing on BBC2 tomorrow (Monday )at 3.15 pm
Do record it and watch it - you will enjoy it
Have a good morning with your elder son and family!

Hello, doglet!
I saw the play too - it was even better than the film! but must admit , haven't read up any additional background.
Did you get your threatened thunderstorms? We got very heavy rain, and, boy, did it rain! the gutters and drains couldn't keep up with it!
Our garden still need a lot of attention- dragging our heels a bit this year.... not sure why!

Fine morning up here, Elle!
A good one to clean up everything is All-In-One Toolbox from Playstore.
Unfortunately, Elle, I do not possess the sitdownability to watch films. I am the same with football matches.
They last far too long for me. Much happier with a book!
But, I am sure you will enjoy it!

Hello, Doglet!
It was the same with Macbeth.
He was not the monster that Shakespeare portrayed him to be.
He was a good and fair king.

Rusty, there is no such word as 'sitdownability'!
This is a really good historical film - just endorsed by Doglet and I remember Jazzgirl agreeing with me on that when we mentioned it previously!
You could try watching it in instalments? - there is a way around everything! but of course , your choice......
Yes, I shall probably watch it again.
I've installed All - in -One-Toolbox. It informed me that I had a lot of rubbish !
