Hello Elle!

Yes, I know you are due to reach high temps too and I feel for you
knowing that you do not cope with heat.

51C at present on terrasse (in sun) , only 44C in the shade!

Jeremy is getting used to the high temps but I think he will appreciate
his "Cumbrian" weather all the more when next there in a week!

Does your dog slows down at all in the heat or does it still run
around everywhere? My cats hide under some cool bushes in the
garden (relatively cool that is) , but they often come in and lie down
all the way on the tiled floor.

Good afternoon, Elle!
It is quite warm here, too.
I am home for the day, I think.
Miss ATW is coming to see me later.
Very hot for the Tour riders.
Geraint Thomas crashed earlier, but his team got him back to the peloton.
His knee and elbow are bleeding but he looks OK.
How is your dental work healing?

Hi, Rusty!
I have the fan on in the lounge.... and the cat and I are languishing before it......
My husband and the dog are sitting outside in the shade of a tree.
Even that, though, is too hot for me!
Had I to choose between living in a hot or a cold climate, I should opt for the cold one every time!
How nice that Miss ATW is coming to see you.
You haven't mentioned her for quite some time?
I hope all is well with her?
How is she liking her "new" job? (although I guess it is not all that new by now......)
Now ...my tooth cavity.....which I am prone to refer as an "excavation site".....because that is what it feel like....!
Joking apart...thank you for asking.
I think the actual extraction went well......the cavity is healing and (to me) does not look infected.
The problem lies with the three injection sites and these are indeed swollen and painful....but I am informed that this should settle down within ten days......although I might have bruising for a couple of weeks, and my jaw might feel stiff.
I am doing fine........the discomfort will pass!

Hello, Pigale!
You are right, I do not "do" heat!
We are set to have three days of mid-thirties temperatures before dropping back to the high or mid twenties.....
I shall cope with it by walking the dog very early in the mornings (and possibly late at night) and staying indoors with all the fans on for the remainder of the time.
The dog does not seem to bother ...she would go out for a walk / run any time!
Obviously though, this extreme heat would not be good for her...so I have to decide for her.
But she and my husband are outside under a tree.....and the cat and I are indoors under the fan!

Good evening, Elle!
Quite warm here, too!
Miss ATW is doing fine.
She was here helping me with some paperwork.
I remember my wisdom tooth extraction.
My face was swollen for several days, then settled down quite normally.
Yours will settle too!

Hi, Rusty!
It is a beautiful evening in appearance.......but going outside is a bit like having some one throw a heavy blanket over one's head!
This is when it would be nice to live on the coast..... a refreshing sea breeze would be very welcome!
How did the cycling go today?
Today's stage must have taken place in very hot conditions......
Did you mange to see much of it?

Hello, Elle!
A sea breeze is great!
I only saw a little bit of the cycling today.
My granddaughter arrived before the finish.
LouLou is still in yellow.
Tomorrow is a hillyish stage, then three brutal days in the Alps!
My grandson is coming to see me tomorrow, but should be after the racing.

Hi, Rusty!
You are doing well for family visits this week!
And well done, LouLou!
He is doing well to be still wearing the yellow jersey.
I have only just attempted the second half of today's crossword.
I had forgotten that it was unfinished.
I am stuck on two.......if you can help me , please?
24a: Enamelwork is being worn in replica (9)
C?O?S?N??
I have absolutely no ideas here?
16d: Fit a sort of light shaft (4,4)
?E?Y / ???L
I'm thinking the first word might be "very" as that is "a light"
But cannot make nor tail of the rest?
Whew.....it's hot!!

Hello, Elle!
LouLou is doing remarkably well, but the Alps will be the big test, I think.
Thomas is OK after his crash, though it will be sore trying to sleep tonight with his knee and elbow damage.
24, is a new word for me, Elle, it could be French?
Replica is a "clone", being worn is "is on", within, giving "cloisonne" for enamel work.
16, Is "very well" meaning "fit".
Yes, a "Very" light is a distress signal fired from a pistol, and a "shaft" can be a "well".
In days gone by, a "shaft" would be dug into the ground to a water source, to create a well.
Good puzzle today, Elle.
It is very warm here, too.

Update, Elle!
Just been checking on the various teams in the Tour just now and discovered that Peter Sagan may not start tomorrow.
He had a heavy crash on a descent today (I did not see it) and has a bit of damage here and there.
He and Team Bora will decide in the morning whether he rides or not.
