Hi, Rusty!
It is windy here...but no rain...although according to the local forecast, the rain will start at 6 am tomorrow, and last throughout the day.
Well, we do need it!
It now looks as though the temperature will rise again quite quickly during the week.
The outlook is certainly changeable!
Yes, the setters are very clever....
I used to know a guy who was a freelance crossword setter.
He was one of our dog-walking fraternity, before moving to Wales.
This was before I became interested in tackling the cryptic puzzles though.......else I might have been able to seek out some pointers!

Good morning, Elle!
A fine morning here after the storm.
I think we are to get "thundery showers", today.
I am hoping for a good strong breeze at St Andrews, to test the golfers.
I'd like to see Tom Watson win there.
Think I am home for the day, no suggestion of an outing from the girls.
I admire the setters a lot, their skills help to brighten up my day.
I look forward to tackling my puzzle!
Off to ASDA now, I forgot to buy milk yesterday.
So, "Goodbye Joe, me gotta go ......"

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
"Son of a gun we'll have big fun on the bayou"!
Very wet here...
We are forecast "heavy rain and a moderate breeze" from now until 8 pm tonight!
"Promises, promises......." but the garden is looking hopeful!
We shall go out walking again later.......at least it is cool enough at present for a second walk in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, there is the Everyman and the ST Cryptic to do!

Hi, Rusty!
How is the golf going?
Update.....we still have rain!
I have had a profitable morning.......
Dog and I have been doing some gardening.
Lovely and damp out!
At least it's possible to get the fork into the soil!
I did today's crosswords earlier...and then tackled Saturday's Jumbo Concise.
I was amused that the answer to 1 across should be "thunderclap"!
Did the setter know something in advance that I didn't ?!

Hello, Elle,
Steady rain with me, too.
No thunder though.
I have not had the golf on yet.
They are not showing the tournament I want until later.
Le Tour will be on later, too.
Last day, and Geraint will be bringing the yellow jersey to Paris.
The stage usually ends in a sprint, but most of the top sprinters are eliminated, for one reason or another.
Wonder if Sagan can raise a sprint?

Hi, Rusty!
A wind is getting up here, and the trees are blowing merrily!
It might even be described as a tad "chilly"......
Normally, we would probably be complaining.......but this is paradise after the extreme heat!
My daughter has just texted........they have arrived home safely.
The cat is pleased to see them!
She will tell me all about the wedding tomorrow.
Yes, it is good that Geraint Thomas will be riding in yellow, in triumph to Paris!
And Pete Sagan retained his green jersey, despite his mishaps?
There is nothing can go amiss now?
I am re-reading a Sebastian Faulks novel - "Where My Heart Uses to Beat" - that I have unearthed.......

Hello, Elle!
Quite windy here, too.
Sagan is looking fine, not so many bandages today and said he hopes to contest the sprint!
As long as he finishes he wins the green jersey.
G was riding along waving the Welsh flag for a minute or two!
Only an unforeseen disaster can stop Geraint winning.
I am very happy for him!
There won't be a cow milked in Cardiff this night!

Hi, Rusty!
"There won't be a cow milked in ....." ?
Is it a well-known quote?
It sounds rather as though it might be?
Certainly very descriptive!!
I like it......
My daughter decided to phone today after all, so we have been hearing all about the wedding .. ..
The rain ceased for a time and the ceremony itself was able to be held outdoors as planned.
The informal pics that she sent look good!
Our two grandsons (6 and 2) look cute in their suits!
I am glad they enjoyed their long weekend!

Hello, Elle!
It is a very well known quote from Gaelic football.
"There won't be a cow milked in Clare tonight."
Said on RTE by Marty Morrissey.
Clare had just beaten Kerry, in the Munster final, and celebrations were about to get under way!
Good to hear the wedding went well!
Rain is off here.
G has won Le Tour!
Peto Sagan contested the sprint and came 7th, I think.

Hi, Rusty!
It is still raining here.... we have been out in the garden with the dog!
It was a kind of variant on "Mad dogs and Englishmen..."!
We shall not need the fans on tonight.......the temperature drop is quite significant.
Well done , Geraint Thomas and Peter Sagan!
(The poor cows...!)
I am waiting for my cousin to ring......her turn tonight......and she may be late in so doing, as it is her birthday and she had the entire family over to help celebrate!
