Hello, Pigale!
Hope you are coping with this cold weather!
There are several videos on YouTube about the Italian Chapel.
The Italian prisoners were a fine body of men.
And they left behind a remarkable Chapel for posterity!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for the film...I have just watched it......
The Chapel is quite remarkable , isn't?
I hadn't realised that it was the Italian prisoners themselves who had requested the chapel.
The painting of the plasterboard to look like bricks is truly a work of art.
I had no idea from the photographs that the walls were only plasterboard.
And the frontage of the building is wonderful.......
You will be looking forward to receiving your book and learning more!
Still raining here.... I hope the damp does not freeze overnight.
Our pavements and roads have been bad enough, today.

Hello, Elle!
They did a remarkable job!
And at least one stayed behind after the War to finish the Chapel.
It's only when you look closely that you realise it's plasterboard.
But, they had to scrounge for materials, so considering that, it is just remarkable!
Yes, I am looking forward to reading all about it!
Still icy here!

Hey, Rusty!
Oops! Sorry.......
I have had a short zizz......
Very disorientating, it was , too......I awakened convinced that it was tomorrow morning ......!
Surprisingly, I was still holding my book.......
I am reading "Piccadilly Jim" by P.G Wodehouse.
Nary a Bertie Wooster nor a Jeeves in sight!
This is another of my very old (and faded) favourites from long ago!
The dog is asking to go out...it is still wet....she will need a rub down and her feet wiping on her return!

Hi, Rusty!
I hope all is well at your end?
Have you had a good day?
I hope all went to plan and you were able to meet up with your friends before they flew back to Belfast?
Did Miss O go with you.....because you and she had originally planned to go the Pine Cone today, hadn't you?
Mind you, I guess it all depended on your weather?
Here, it was cold and dry early on this morning.
We had a pleasant, though slippy underfoot, walk - choosing where possible to go through woods (muddy!) and over fields, rather than taking icy paths.
But now it is pouring with rain, hopefully washing away all the ice......
Tomorrow it will supposedly be a tad warmer.
We've been busy rewiring our Christmas tree lights as they had stopped working.
All sorted now - the lights are in situ.......and I have (re)decorated the tree!
So time for a coffee and a bit of R&R!

Good evening, Elle!
We had a grand time at Pine Cone!
The girls, my friends from Norn Iron, and me!
Miss O and La Bamba had super parkas on.
Very cosy looking and very attractive, too.
Pine Cone was very busy and the car park is on a slope and was a sheet of ice!
But we survived!
It is a tad milder here, too.

Good evening, Rusty!
Ah, I am glad that all went as planned, and you were able to meet up with your friends and the girls.
Will the NI contingent be home again by now?
At least the weather seems less severe.
I think we are to see some gradual improvement.
Did you know that to put on the "soup and fish" is to wear men's evening dress?
So I am told by Mr Wooster......
I had no idea of this!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, all safely home in NI.
The geckos were pleased to see them!
I did not know about "soup and fish", but I know there is a Swansea in Tasmania.
I wondered about "pipsqueak", too?
Our weather is milder and the icy pavements are getting less challenging by the minute!
Hope it continues mildish for a few days!

Hi, Rusty!
I have been talking to my cousin for our usual hour!
All is well on the North-Western front.
Chambers gives "pipsqueak" as "something or someone insignificant or contemptible; a German shell of WW1; a two -strike motorcycle" .
But have you heard of "Pip, Squeak and Wilfred"?
Take a look in Brewer's........
Still raining here......!

Hello, Elle!
That is good all is well to the North!
Yes, but why is it "pipsqueak"?
Why that word? Where did it come from?
I know "Pip, Squeak and Wilfred" were the Tommies' name for the three medals they earned in WW1.
But that is all.
It is certainly milder here.
Will have to see what day is best for going to cemetery.
