The temperature here is set to go colder at the weekend...down to 2C, so we are told.

Yes, my son has a very good butcher.
They do curries and all sorts.
I hope the gritters are precautionary.
We have an "ice warning" for next 24 hours.
I have texted to the young ones to be careful driving in the morning.
I have my eye on a couple of things in the Sale.
But shall wait until the morn before I do anything.
Telling myself there may be further reductions!
The Christmas Lights get switched on down town tomorrow evening.
Town should be busy.

I don't think that Asda is alone in holding out against Black Friday?
Selfridges, Ikea, Primark, and Next are amongst those that do not appear to be taking part, either.
I have had a look around online at various "deals", but I haven't bought anything.
I thought, though, that you were seriously considering buying another Chromebook?
Or is it about this that you are wanting to consult with the girls?
Will there be a Cyber Monday this year?
I haven't heard anything about that?
I didn't find any serious book offers that appealed, on Amazon....

It is White Friday here (with the frost!)
Yes, I have bought a Chromebook online an hour ago.
I could have got one in my local Currys but they did not have the colour I preferred.
It gets delivered on Monday.
Monday suits me best.
The girls would give good advice, but all my young ones prefer Apple products and they are more expensive.
I shall have a look on Amazon and eBay later for books.
Puzzle complete, too!
I liked 18a, but am not aware of what the setter is thinking in 17d.
I'd best go down the word mines for help!
