Hi, Rusty!
All this modern technology is beyond me!
And yes, my phone is ancient!
The Nokia 1100 was first produced in 2003..... and discontinued in 2009!
But made to last!
It suits me fine!
What a lot of photos you have!
The forecast is for slightly milder weather tomorrow.......

Hello, Elle,
I am not good with technology but I find smart 'phones easy enough to operate.
I would be lost without one.
There are hundreds of Nokia 1100's on eBay!
I have all my family photos on my phone.
My sons when they were little boys growing up etc.
And all the young ones.
I have a photo of my father, must have been taken in a studio around 1948.
I have that on my 'phone, too.
So even if I lost the actual photo of him, it is safely copied with Google.

Good morning, Rusty!
Wet and (slightly) warmer here !
A very poggy walk!
That is interesting about the Nokia 1100 being available on eBay?
Over 250 million Nokia 1100 models were sold........it is apparently the most popular phone to date!
But I definitely do remember its being discontinued.
I wonder is Nokia producing a "new" phone along the old lines?
Or whether these are refurbished models - or simply secondhand phones ?
Thank you for the info.......
I wouldn't mind a new replica of the one I have .
Mine is getting a tad worn and tatty!
I shall look into this later, when I come back......
I am now heading off to have my hair trimmed!
And then do a bit of shopping.......
I shall be home about one o'clock..........

Good morning, Elle!
May I suggest you have a look in Tesco for a Nokia?
They used to have a range of very simple phones including Nokias.
Or, try Amazon or eBay?
If you go to eBay you can "fine tune" your search by selecting from "new", "manufacturer refurbished", "refurbished", or "used".
Best with an "unlocked" 'phone, or one locked to your present provider, whether O2, EE, or whoever.
I am off out for my dental appointment!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I have reluctantly parted with half an inch off the length of my hair!
How did you get on at the dentist's?
I hope all went well with your filling?
I may have given you the wrong impression........
I am not looking to replace my phone as such - it works well - only if there is the opportunity of getting an identical brand- new 1100 model.
I had thought that maybe Nokia was manufacturing the 1100 again?
Right, coffee and crossword time......!

Hello, Elle!
I got two fillings (no anaesthetic!) and a scrape and polish.
She gave me two wee tubes of toothpaste and wee wire things for scraping between teeth.
Miss La Bamba's best pal works there and we had a good chat!
I am wondering why you would replace your phone, if it is working away fine, for a newer model?
Did you know Nokia started out making rubber boots?
I found the puzzle on the hard side today!

Hi, Rusty!
That is good that the dental visit went well.
I hope, though, that you did not go straight to the bakers and buy jam -doughnuts?
I was not intending to replace my phone at all, until you mentioned having seen the same model available ---- it then struck me that a brand-new IDENTICAL phone might be worth buying, just to "put by" for when I eventually needed another phone.
I do not want to progress to a more updated phone, do you see?
Am I expressing this clearly- I seem to be causing some confusion?
I am drinking strong coffee...this may help my clarification!
Yes, Nokia and rubber boots is ringing a faint bell......
I have just started on the crossword .....about a third way through.....

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I went to Greggs and got two steakbakes and two jam doughnuts.
The 'phones on eBay are described as "new condition" and cost around £12 post free. 1 year warranty.
They appear to sell quite a lot of them.
Have a look, or ask Santa?
I am not confused at all, but is not possibly paying £12 for something you may never use, a bit mad?
I have a modern Samsung smart 'phone and could never imagine going back to the old Nokias!
But we are all different.

Hi, Rusty!
What is a steakbake?
I shall look at the phones.....all I was considering doing was pre-empting the time when I shall need a new ( but not an ultra modern ) phone!
A"second string to my bow" so to speak!
But hey, maybe I'll go for a carrier pigeon instead!
I have finished the crossword, barring two I cannot do at all.
9d: Dish containing dry leftover from pipe (6)
?O?T?E
14a:Particular type of clue died out (3)
O?N
All I can think of is "own" but why?
I liked "magisterial", "stockholder", "episode" and "cited"
Dull and dank here now.

Hi elle
Do you want answers? Though I'm not entirely happy about part of the construction of the first one, or the definition in the second!
