Good afternoon, Rusty!
We have had a brief heavy shower but rain has stopped for now.....
I'm glad you had a nice time with your granddaughter!
And speaking of granddaughters......I must phone the mum of mine, and arrange for us all to meet up.......she texted me suggesting their coming to visit, but we have yet to arrange a date.
I am gradually getting organised though......
I have now made a vet appointment for the dog's boosters, and also an appointment with the groomer for her trim!
I have almost finished the15 x15... I am stuck on two I cannot do...and a few I cannot fully parse!
I'm not ready yet though to concede defeat!

Hello, Elle!
Still a nice day here!
Keep at your puzzle!
Keep an open mind and the parse may fall into (in to?) place!

Hi, Rusty!
We have rain again here......it is more like April weather!
Heavy showers, then sunshine!
I am disappointed......I had meant either to watch or record, a short programme about Brendan Foster earlier this afternoon.
Instead, I have done neither.......because I forgot!
What a shame!
I have just one unfinished clue......
9a: Pine ridge that obscures sea view (4)
?R?T
I am assuming this is fret = pine (def)
but cannot parse the rest of the clue?
I daresay it is something relatively simple...but I cannot, for the life of me, see it!
How is your Cycling going?

Hello, Elle!
I have been enjoying the scenery around San Sebastian!
A lovely part of the world!
What about Catch Up TV?
That would let you watch Bren's documemntary.
Yes, "fret" is correct.
A fret is a sea mist. (A haar to me.)
Also, it is a ridge on the arm of a guitar where the strings are.
And pine, too.
A triple definition.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear......I don't know anything about Catch Up TV?
I don't think we have that facility - whatever it is?
But you have given me an idea.......I might be able to find Brendan's programme on BBC iPlayer on the computer?
I shall try later.
I did not know that a fret was a mist......although I knew about the ridge on a guitar...but didn't connect that "ridge" to the clue!
I would never have got it!
Thank you for explaining!
No "The Voice" for me to watch tonight..... it finished last week!

Hello, Elle!
I can get Catch Up TV if I connect my television set to my Wi-Fi, but I choose not to.
I can get it through the Sky system but I do not know much about it and it is of no interest to me.
I think, possibly, you can watch programmes up to a month old on it.
Something like that anyway.
It may be on BBC iPlayer, or YouTube?
I think "fret" or "sea fret" is a North of England word?
Around here we call the sea mist a "haar".
I think it was a good puzzle today?
I liked 6a and 3d.

Hi, Rusty!
I think understanding Catch Up TV is beyond me!
I don't want my television attached to the internet anyway...I was reading an article a while back saying how insecure this was, and it apparently could prove to be an invasion of privacy.
It all sounded very dicey?
I shall stick to BBC iPlayer !
For the first time for several weeks, I didn't find the Saturday puzzle as easy as usual?
I think my favourites were 30a - upspeaks - and 17d - theme park.
No particular reason except they just appealed to me!

Hello, Elle!
I have way more than enough to occupy me without having to learn Catch Up TV, too!
I agree about today's puzzle.
It was a good test!
The parses were not always obvious.
Me being an Alpine skiing fan, "Super G" was my first one in!
Your daughter will 'phone you to let you know they are home safe?

Hi, Rusty!
I think you need to have a Smart TV to be able to connect to the Internet?
We decided against that after discovering that one's TV could be used as a means to spy on you!
Google it and have a read about it!
Talk about Big Brother!
I don't know how true all this hype is...but I'm taking no chances!
I'll live in the Dark Ages!
I expect that my daughter will just text tonight to let us know that they are home safely........they will be wanting to get the children to bed.......and phone tomorrow to have a chat!
We should be hearing soon!

Update, Rusty!
Daughter has texted to say they have arrived back at in the UK.
It should be about another two hours before they reach home.
