Hello, Elle!
Yes, I have been watching the cycling!
Some of my favourites were in the studio.
Clare Balding, Jo Rowsell, Sir Chris Hoy, and Trotty!
And Jill Douglas was at the track. I like Jill.
Katie Archibald won the omnium, so we have a new World Champion and Katie has a Rainbow Jersey.
We had a postie delivery today but the Royal Mail site says there is no delivery in England and Wales.
I am not sure why some days are Bank holidays, and others are public holidays?
Possibly at one time, Bank holidays were only for banks?
We have lost many bank branches up here.
And I have it in my head that at one time there was no horse racing on Good Friday, but there is racing today?

Update, Elle!
Monday is not a Bank Holiday in Scotland.
And, there is a programme on BBC1 Scotland, tonight, called "Landward" at 19.30 and part of it is about the Loch of the Lowes ospreys.

Hi, Rusty!
You sound to be having a good day!
Especially surrounded by so many of your cycling favourites!
No, we never get postal deliveries here on bank/public holidays!
And actually only one very late in the day delivery on a "normal" week day.
( Bring back carrier pigeons?...or maybe smoke signals might do the trick?)
I have been watching 15 to1.......
There was a question about one of your favourite personalities.......
Who was the last man to win a tennis tournament using a wooden racquet?
I didn't know the answer.......but it was Yannick Noah!
Our garden is looking good!
I am rethinking the redesigning.....I think we shall forge ahead with all the re-fencing but will stick with the existing "lawn", as the grass is growing well now, since we trimmed back all the trees (only nine of them, but it does make a big difference to the light).
I like the "greenness"!
A friend bought me a beautiful big blue-flowered Senetti planter for my birthday and we have just re-potted this in a tub on the patio - it does looks lovely in position!
Hopefully, you will tell me about the Osprey programme?

Hello, Elle!
I only get one post now, too.
The cycling was OK but I much prefer the road cycling.
The Amstel Gold this Sunday.
I have a tiny bet on Dan Martin to win.
I like Yannick Noah!
Your garden sounds fine!
I am recording "Landward" and will watch it tomorrow.
Yes, I'll let you know how it goes.
It is a lovely afternoon here.
I wonder if Miss La Bamba will remember she is taking me for a bacon roll tomorrow?

Hi, Rusty!
The Amstel Gold?
Is not the Amstel a river in Amsterdam?
Or is there a place with this name , too?
(You know me and Geography!)
My younger daughter and family are going to The Netherlands for a holiday this coming summer - I forget whereabouts, though!
Now...I am afraid I have to tell you that sadly Mr Jingles is no longer with us!
He has just rather gruesomely been deposited at my feet by my cat.........who proudly though he was bringing me a present.......
I cannot blame the cat for the mouse's sad demise.....he was only doing his "job"........
I did take the mouse away from him, but it was already beyond rescuing .........
( He should have got on the train when I packed his suitcase, and come to stay with you.......)
Ah well........
I am sure that Miss L-B will remember your meeting up tomorrow.
Are you going out for breakfast ? or lunch?

Amstel is a Dutch brewer! Very good, too.

Good evening, Elle!
That is dreadful news about Mr Jingles!
Murdered! And at his own fireside, too!
I hope he did not suffer!
In the film, John Coffey resuscitated Mr Jingles when he was killed.
Pity there is no John Coffey in Bromley!
Amstel is a brewer who has sponsored the race since its inception.
There is no link with the river, really.
It is the only Classic to take place in the Netherlands.
This year, for the first time, there is a women's race.
So, good luck to Lizzie, if she is riding.
The course would suit her.
I have watched Landward.
The bit about the osprey nest lasted ten minutes.
It was the rangers climbing the tree in Spring to check the nest was OK and clean the webcam etc.
The Loch of the Lowes was beautiful!
I think the programme will be on Catch Up TV or whatever it's called.
Maybe even YouTube?
Not heard from La Bamba!
Wonder if I should remind her?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I am sorry that I wasn't able to catch Mr. J earlier and put him outside - maybe even relocate him in a neighbouring garden so that he couldn't find his way "home"!
It would have been a safer option for him, with our having a cat!
Mr Jingles has been lucky to survive living with us for so long!
I have seen photos of the Loch - it is certainly a beautiful place.
There has been no access to the nest today - whenever I have looked, the webcam has been out of order.
They do seem to be having a lot of trouble with it?
I shall try YouTube tomorrow to see if I can find the programme.
Perhaps you could try texting Miss L-B to check what time she is collecting you?
That would be a tactful way of reminding her, without actually intimating that you think she might have forgotten?
We shall be going out early in the morning just like a normal (as opposed to Easter) Saturday.
Time and dog wait for no man........

Hello, Elle!
I have no picture from the loch either.
A tricky one.
It is a criminal offence in Scotland to disturb ospreys nesting.
Maybe they can fix the webcam remotely?
Yes, I'll text Miss La Bamba.
I usually text her around this time, anyway.

Hey, Rusty!
I think it's lovely how you always say good night to your granddaughters.
You have a great relationship with them!
Did you sort out tomorrow with Miss La Bamba?
