I only started cryptics 4 years ago and have often struggled with synonyms, although I use the online thesaurus and I have a Roget's which my husband used.

There is more than synonyms in Bradford's.
Under "pan" for instance, as well as the god and more ordinary meanings, you will find Peter. Peter Pan.
I suppose they could be called link words.
That's what I like about Bradford's.
If you were to buy one, go for a hardback.
They last much longer!

My grateful thanks to too many to enumerate.

My absence from this machine for the last hour was unavoidable, hence the delay in replying.

I hope that the answers you so kindly supplied will enable me, with luck, to complete the remainder.

I have to confess to being quite unaware of a San Bernadino pass - I'll have to try an atlas.

Can't help thinking it was a bit trying this week....
