I've barely started, but already I'm baffled. There are three clues - I, L and P - that are given as 10 letters, but I can only find two 10 letter spaces. The L could be entered as 4, 6, crossing at the first letter, but I can't see anywhere for that to work either. What am I missing?

You're not missing anything!

There are only 7 6-letter clues and 3 4-letter clues.
But there are 8 6-letter spaces and 4 3-letter spaces.

Ipso Facto...

The L clue is split between two separate lines and doesn't cross with itself at all

PS. Should have added that the "Ls" don't have to cross at first letter - I'm sure you've seen that those are the "C" & "F" clues.

No clues for y and z which confused me but the rest works ok and we could work out y and z from the letters that were there.

Turned out to be quite an easy one.

I don't see what you mean about Y and Z, kruby - in fact they were the second and third I solved (the 6 letter C was the first).

Need one to finish, the X clue: The other outstanding boyreturns for festivals, methinks? (6). I have X?A?E?
Any pointer appreciated.

Read backwards it has a boy inside "the other". Definition "festivals" - the same one in more than one year, rather than different ones.
