I post on 225 under a different name as well.

I didn't mean the D-word ones, rather the A-word ones. They do seem a bit random.

I thought that the "Special Instructions" were not very clear - it wouldn't have helped much, and would have been much clearer, to say "Two sets of four clues are undefined, with a shared definition for each set", or something similar.

Ah sorry, by D-word I meant the name of the 4 As.

I missed that! D-word is correct.

I suppose it was because I solved them piecemeal.

And I, in turn, had missed the fact that the 2 definitions go together! :-(

I think the "huge" although accurate) is superfluous.
