I would have been shocked if you hadn't, aristo. I'm down to the last 4 now. Some really good clues. Love the theme too.

I did type 52a, but this site is often visited by gremlins. I'm just getting started, but have already seen a couple of doozies.

I think I'm there now. I reckon this is the best JE we've had so far, in terms of both the quality of the clues and the ingenuity of the theme. Well done to all, and especially Les.

I've still got about 10 left.

I haven't done many of the "places", though I think 24 is only correctly placed with reference to its source, rather than geographically!

Well Chris, I see you've made some inroads my friend. Yeah, you are quite correct with 24a, it's quite a well known misnomer in the geographical view. However, with your comment, I guess you have the correct answer.
Glad to see peterm has finished, it's always good to see a finisher because that's just proof that it's doable. I'll pop off and check my email now to see if we have more early finishers

I remember doing a past grid with quite a few 3 ltr words and the clueing for them wasn't well enjoyed so I decided to hoover up all those little blighters myself. I ended up with so many because of the way I had to get the 'special theme' words to fit and it made the whole thing unsymmetrical (against the law in cryptic clue land) . I added most of them after completing the necessary guts of the grid, they were an afterthought to fill some heavily blocked areas

I could have emulated the task of adding 3 Ltr words in the top half of the grid but that would have upset the numbering order of some clues and made one of the theme words defunct as it relies on this to work (the only one to do this)???
