Struggled with this one from the word go. Fortunately postings here have help me to get near to completion. However cannot get 8a and 6d. Would gratefully appreciate any hints. Thanks.

6d is palindromic
8a you want the name of a port - you presumably have S?L?? - when you find the port, you will "see" the clue!

Thank you for your help sudokulover. 8a is a very clever clue . Cannot see how one arrives at the answer for 6d but it is given in Bradford under 'cycle' ! Cheers.

My Chambers gives two possibilities for 4D (third letter). I can see "flirt", but not "top".
