had quick look at Paul's offering. - like his 28 and 12d --- I'm almost clueless :-) anyone had a look yet ?

Just printed it off. I don't get the 28/12 thing yet, but I like 8a (esp. in the Grauniad, where you never know...)

Must go & get some breakfast. No doubt I'll be back here later.

Can you confirm 28a goes N?T?? ?
Can't find any 2-word phraes fitting that pattern!

I'm not really getting to grips with this one. I don't like puzzles where some bits of some clues might be missing - I like to know what I'm dealing with.

Is the asterisk supposed to be relevant? I'm worse than dizoz: I haven't a clue what it's about.

Can't see any significance in the asterisk.
But surely there should be an "s" at the end of 28 12 down" the 1st time it occurs,too (why not?).

I'm getting nowhere with this! Can't even pick the five clues of the theme! A little hint might ease my frustration.

Very good fun when the initial bafflement is overcome

19D the least known (to me anyway) of the five was the first themed one I solved...all of the five are down clues.

Got a good way through this, though still struggling with the top RHS. Also, I have 'an' answer for 19 down that fits the clue but would be the wrong sex for the theme (assuming my theme is correct and sex specific). Any suggestions????
