Hello everyone. When I got the answer I thought the `messily dressed people` a marvelous clue. Cannot remember which number across it was as I am doing this from memory. What a terrific read the book was. More or less finished now but had to anagram solve the `high point` to get the horse. Pouring with rain all day here but at least it is not cold!

I thought the second part of the horse clue was a long drink you have in a vain attempt to dilute spirits previously taken!

Good afternoon all - a tad late this week as we have been let out of the West Country to enjoy a tour of NT properties in Kent & Sussex. Back to the Xword, I have one left - 17D U*T*M* "Emit when computer is operating ?" Can find several words to fit - but can't see the clue - help appreciated

It's a very clever clue. The definition is "when a computer is operating" (in IT speak).
It's significant that it is a DOWN clue.
