It's not a V. I have a slight quibble with this clue...

Flummoxed by 22ac. I think I've got 17dn right, so it doesn't leave many options. Any help shamelessly welcomed.

I had only three short entries left and that was one of them. I had gone with the entertainment option but have been guided along the path of righteousness now...I think. Nice to see that I have company.

Nope, I just don't get it, despite all the hints. I can't even see what "the entertainment option" is supposed to be.

That's cleared up the west, then (though I don't understand most of 17ac).

I still have the 2 1/2 in the south-west, though. Can anyone give agentle hint on 45ac or 41dn, please?
