Thanks Les -- all clear now, and off to bed, trying not to think of 36d and Bertie Wooster...

Was afraid of seeing spoilers, so came here rather late. What a bog to wade through! 105.

Les, you did a remarkable job with the theme. I'm sure we're all honoured. Still have 2 missing, & 6 answers to get, and a few ?s re wordplay.

@Lionheart - 48A, the wordplay is good -- 5 letters either side of the core, but I have a quibble with the def.
That, & the answer, fits the general category, but they are completely different types, at least on this side of the pond (NA). Chambers & NA Oxfords seem to agree.

29D -- Perhaps I missed it, & I don't want to scan through again, but is this the fellow?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis_Healey
in which case, his name is misspelled.
Don't know the fellow, so ... "sullen" ?

Overall, some brilliant clues, at least ones that boggled me for a while:
17A, 38A, 45A, 40D, to mention a few, & then still unsolved 21D, plus a couple from Les.

MaƱana.

I haven't wanted to check in before for fear of picking up something I'd rather have got myself.

Just got 48a.

Lionheart, if I only knew where you live I'd set my kittens on you!

Syzygy -- try googling a full-face picture of Denis Healey...although Chambers doesn't give sullen as a definition. Pumps at 48 would have been familiar to all Brits of a certain age in this context (which makes it all the more irritating that I took so long to see it!)
