Just a basic query.
Are the grid entries proper words or just a compilation of the wordplay part of the clue. My thanks in advance

Only just started on this and it looks quite tricky - to say the least.

I have 6 answers that I am happy with and none of them are 'proper' words.

OAK - the grid entries are not proper words, but all can be worked out from the wordplay and there is no real doubt as to what should be entered.

OK, please ignore my previous submissions (not that there were any replies).

I've finished it now.

Pendragon - didn't respond because I didn't have those either. Could you point me in the right direction with 1dn or 12ac? That corner is still eluding me.

Teenieleek - for 12ac think about picking up on the radio. What do you do?

I've got very little finished. I can't seem to concentrate much - I'm in the dreaded process of moving.

For 1dn, the letter that's missing appears twice. It's an anagram of "ended wife" plus the missing letters, to give the definition "clearly determined".
