No Enid, I don't mean that at all. I often resort to reference books but I also think the clues should give one a fighting chance of working them out without constantly having to resort to Google or an atlas. I don't live in Shropshire but it's all too easy to look up obscure place names. What's the point? I finished this but didn't understand some of it. I don't enjoy those but I'm glad you did.

Thank you setanta and chris. I wasn`t aware of the biblical reference (organised religion is akin to the plague for me) but thought it must be the Manatee: lovely, docile marine creature, sometimes called a sea cow.
