I've come late to this thread. What a shame that a cracking discussion has been ruined by one selfish, pig-ignorant idiot. If only this forum had a degree of moderation or an 'ignore' button to block users like that.

Anyway, I'd far rather be part of a bunch of cheats than the bunch of c**ts DOTW clearly belongs to.

Crossword solving is not a solitary occupation and collaboration is positively encouraged by many including the Guardian Crossword Editor. The brainpower resulting from the teamwork is more than the sum of the parts so it is NOT cheating. I often do crosswords with a friend who has very different thought patterns to mine. We might be debating a clue neither of us has any idea about and I can feel my brain stretch to meet hers and then leap to conclusions I would never have reached without our discussions. If you’ve done the work and put in the effort, you have every right to enter your crosswords without censure.

Bozzy you are absolutely right. Why anyone would come on a site like this just to complain mystifies me.

rose-madder's logic is impeccable. She agrees she's a cheat and calls the person who pointed that out a c**t. Not liking what DoTW said is all very well but really.

All gone quiet on this thread. Where has Disgusted gone? And Sally Sunshine? And Sally's pal, Pastille? And all the conniving cheats, according to the Voice of Tunbridge Wells? It was entertaining while it lasted though!
