Hi Ixion - I have an answer to 21d. I'm not very happy about it, but with ed on the end, it certainly would apply to me - in any romantic sense, that is.

I think that's what Rob P meant - my answer fits OK, just I'm not happy with it.

I know what you mean...just erased my 7D because I've decided it's probably wrong

ixion - how sure are you about your 21dn? I must have the same answer as AJT, but I haven't yet got any of the across answers to check it.

Peterm - my 21 is a as cmk describes, a short version of a word for Lord/Lady?

Blimey - this is tough; haven't tried a 'Printer's Devilry' before - don't know if Araucaria has done one before but I know AZED has.
After 1 hour on and off I only have 4 of which I am confident - 9ac, 24ac, 18d & 21d.
For 21d I agree with cmk @26 and ixion @38.

Thx ixion. Oh dear. Do you have any of the across clues to check your answer (don't tell me what they are)? 21dn is one of the few I thought I'd nailed!
