Thanks guys got it now

Have finally hit the buffers with 4 to go:
16, 20 & 25d; 29ac.
I think I'm OK with crossing letters (15, 19, 24 & 27ac) but maybe not.
Any hints greatly appreciated.

7D could be Erding(place name)- gives offer'd(not in Chambers though)

Yes, RonH--re 7d-- that's what I meant a while back when I said "think civil disobedience"...

For 16dn, you need to insert a word after the first "t" in "tait". It will make the passage end with the names of 4 Scottish towns joined with "and". The first town is also a male name.

Like EB I'm down to the bottom right corner: 20d, 25d and 29a to go; any hints appreciated. (This has been the hardest, and one of the best, Genius puzzles I can remember)

Peterm I think 16D is four Scottish football teams "I find in the Scots FA"...

I'm finding it hard to see how there's room for 3 Scottish towns in 16d

I thought you'd finished, AJT. I worked out 16D from peterm's help. The four towns start after FA, and it's an I in parentheses, not an L.

I can't see where 6D (for which I have the only possible answer) fits. Nor 4D - for which there are two possible answers, neither of which seems to fit (after the i of tit?).

Then it's just the bottom right-hand corner left. Did I say "just"?

ve been working on peterm's advice that it started after the t in"tait".

Finished - I wish - I've only got 10 answers, and I've been working on this for far too much time since Monday.
