I take it that by "good idea,etc",you mean it's a good idea that Mandela does it as you don't seem to be expecting a reply yourself.

You don't think it's all getting a bit silly. All crosswords have the occasional iffy clue don't they.

Ah, but if we're persistent enough to irritate them, they might just send us a DVD to shut us up! Or maybe not.

Sounds an incredibly complicated scheme for a free DVD but good luck.

I've hesitated to contribute to the 3d debate, probably because I'm not really bothered and because I never send them in anyway. That said, the clue does say 'sound from top of room' which persuades me that it is the 'closing off' bit which provides the answer i.e. sealing.

In other words it is the positioning of the word 'from' in the clue that convinces me which of the answers is the one to go for.

Just come back to this site having been sending emails from my own address. You are right Terry I am not going to email Radio Times as I do not feel so strongly about the clue for 3D and also my time on the computer is limited and indeed is nearly up now. But good luck to Mandala.

Please dont take this the wrong way but if all i had to worry about was the spelling of a crossword answer I would count myself lucky - things not going so well for me at present so cant understand the passion. Having said that I love reading the thread so dont shout at me!

Hello All Just about finished my first ever RT crossword, I have gone with the "s" word for 3d .I am stuck on last two clues these being 21d Hundred watt in settlement(4)
23a Wintry weather likely to end (5) any pointers please.

a word for 'ton'+ w for watt= settlement.
23.a Snowy = wintry weathery =snow, end of likely =y. If this makes sense im happy. Love you all.
