The second one is a term for a piece of organ music.
Pair avoid parses as 2,5 for the second word.

All clues solved leaving some mystifying unclued lights. No doubt others will breeze through the end-puzzle.

I have all the unclued lights, it’s the normal ones I can’t do ;)

I am also bemused by 9D. I think the 3rd from final letter is "i" not "o", but even so I can only find an 8 letter second word that fits the crossers.

mrcodger - to help with the unclueds, try thinking how the title might be misheard if read out loud.

9 down is an anagram which yields a French expression.

Only if you don’t pronounce your Rs!
